Once you receive your university admission, the next hurdle is the visa. China has two main types of student visas: X1 (for study > 180 days) and X2 (for study < 180 days).
Required Documents Checklist
- Valid Passport: With at least 6 months validity.
- Admission Notice: Original copy from the university.
- JW201 or JW202 Form: This is the visa application form issued by the Chinese Ministry of Education.
- Physical Examination Record: For X1 visa applicants.
Important: Post-Arrival
If you hold an X1 visa, you have 30 days after entry to convert it into a Residence Permit. Do not miss this deadline, or you will face heavy fines.
